About me

The idea for “a life recording” came to me during a conversation with a friend concerned about losing their elderly parents, and with them the many stories which add to the rich tapestry of a family’s history.

Thirty years ago this year I lost my own father, and was left with nothing more than a few photos of him to share with my family. So I have made it my mission to others to help capture on film those people and stories that will always be important to us.

For the past 27 years I’ve worked in the media, mostly as a talk radio host, including over a decade with the ABC. In that time I have conducted thousands of interviews, and have always taken great pride in connecting with my guests and making them feel comfortable with a mixture of humour and empathy. This is based on a real desire to get the best out of people in an interview situation.

It is therefore my intention to bring my experience and passion for preserving family stories together to make “a life recording” a very special occasion and something never to be forgotten.
